Disaster spiritual care: Planning a dream

  • Featuring: Tim Serban & Melody Fawcett
  • Date Submitted: Dec 29, 2022
  • Location: Oregon

Tim, a chaplain for Providence, also volunteers as a spiritual care worker for the American Red Cross. In his 20+years as a volunteer he has worked many disasters. One that stands out was his work with the children on the island of American Samoa after a devastating tsunami. The children were having trouble sleeping because their dreams were haunting them. To give them control over their subconscious, he taught them how to plan a dream. He also shared with friend and colleague, Melody, what he does to process grief. Edit credit: Mike Addis
